Forestry & Estate Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a Forestry & Estate Maintenance Worker to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. As a Forestry & Estate Maintenance Worker, you will play a hands-on role in caring for the iconic Goodwood Estate.

The role involves maintaining forests, woodlands, roadside trees, and amenity areas across the Estate. You will operate a range of specialist machinery, including tractors, chainsaws, telehandlers, and PTO equipment, and support woodland management and tree planting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain forests, woodlands, roadside trees, and amenity areas across the Estate
• Operate tractors, chainsaws, telehandlers, and PTO equipment
• Support tree planting and woodland management projects
• Maintain public rights of way, tracks, fences, walls, and other estate infrastructure
• Load and unload timber, aggregates, and other materials
• Assist with grounds and landscape maintenance activities
• Undertake a variety of seasonal and ad hoc estate maintenance tasks

Requirements:

• Prior experience operating tractors, telehandlers, and PTO equipment
• Chainsaw qualification
• Experience maintaining machinery and equipment
• Knowledge of trees, forestry, or tree planting
• A practical approach and confidence working outdoors in all weather conditions
• A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
• A full UK driving licence
• An interest in forestry, countryside management, or the natural environment is desirable

We offer a salary of £26,644.80 per annum, plus excellent benefits.
