We're currently looking for interns to join Polestar Design department to support the development of future Polestar products across exterior, interior and color, material, and finish (CMF) design.

We are offering three separate internship positions within the Design team: Exterior Design, Interior Design and CMF Design. Please indicate in your application which area you are most interested in.
This is a full-time, paid internship for 6 months, located in Gothenburg, Sweden, with the expectation to work primarily onsite while benefiting from a hybrid setup when needed.
Responsibilities
In this role, you'll be expected to support the creation and development of future Polestar products, working alongside experienced designers in a collaborative studio environment.
- Create design proposals and visualizations through sketches, 3D modeling, and renderings
- Support the development of interior, exterior, and CMF concepts throughout the design process
- Research trends, materials, and technologies to inspire innovative design solutions
- Assist in building presentations, design boards, and storytelling materials
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other design and engineering teams
The ideal candidate

You're a creative thinker with a strong eye for detail and a genuine passion for automotive design and sustainable innovation. You enjoy collaborating with others and are eager to learn, contribute, and challenge conventions.
In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
- Final stage of studies within Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or equivalent – for CMF-focused internship, studies in Product, Fashion, or Textile Design are also relevant – ensuring a strong design foundation and understanding of form, function, and user experience
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Alias, Blender, Maya, or similar 3D design software is an advantage
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly through sketches, renderings, and digital tools, and comfort in developing concepts from initial exploration to refined design proposals
- Understanding of materials, colors, and finishes – important for contributing to CMF development and sustainable design choices
- A strong transportation design portfolio showcasing creative thinking and design process – demonstrating your ability to translate ideas into impactful design solutions and your understanding of how thoughtful design creates meaningful user experiences. For CMF-focused internship a strong portfolio showing esthetic, creative, innovative design ability is required.
