The Development Director role is a senior delivery leader responsible for planning and driving the production of character assets across internal teams and external partners. Working closely with Art Directors, Art Leads, Tech Art, Tech Animation, ExDev and partner teams, the Character DD creates the structure, clarity, and rhythm needed for predictable delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own end-to-end delivery planning for the Characters portfolio, including feasibility, scope breakdown, estimates, schedules and handoff readiness.
  • Design and run team rituals to support team culture, communication and transparency.
  • Lead execution across the area by managing progress, dependencies, blockers, risks and escalation paths.
  • Drive workflow integrity, tracking accuracy, and Definition of Done compliance to improve predictability and delivery confidence.
  • Partner with creative, craft, technical and external teams to align quality expectations, capacity needs, and execution plans.
  • Strengthen the Characters operating model through process improvement, better planning practices, and scalable team rhythms.

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Character work is delivered predictably, with clear visibility into status, risks and milestone readiness.
  • Plans reflect real effort, dependencies, capacity and trade-offs.
  • Teams and partners work with strong clarity, accountability and consistent delivery practices.
  • Quality expectations are supported through timely reviews, readiness checks and coordinated execution.
  • The Characters pipeline becomes more efficient, scalable and resilient over time.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Significant experience leading delivery or production in game development, character art, or a comparable content pipeline.
  • Strong capability in planning, estimation, dependency management and risk mitigation.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver high-quality content.
  • Clear, collaborative communication and sound judgment in fast-moving, high-accountability environments.
  • A commitment to inclusive teamwork and creating the conditions for people to do their best work.
