Senior Cloud Security Engineer - InfoSec

We're looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to design and implement secure systems, guardrails, and automation that enable Mercury to scale while maintaining security and compliance.

As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will:

• Help build and define cloud security posture, enable cyber resilience, and contribute to zero-trust initiatives.
• Understand Governance, Risk, and Compliance in cloud engineering.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to enhance cloud infrastructure reliability and security.
• Automate cloud security controls to minimize threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
• Shape Mercury's AWS cloud architecture around resilience, least privilege, and maintainability.
• Address remote access challenges and security concerns in a remote-first environment.

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud security, networking, or information security.
• Strong learning and growth mindset with a proven track record.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations (NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of security practices, troubleshooting, and attack vectors.
• Experience with information-as-code (IaC) tooling.
• AWS certifications are encouraged.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are:

• US employees: $166,600 - $208,300
• Canadian employees: CAD 157,400 - 196,800
