LPN or Medical Assistant II- Atrium Health Northcross FM FT

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant II to join our team at Atrium Health Northcross Family Medicine in Huntersville, NC. As an LPN or Medical Assistant II, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary: The successful candidate will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of appropriate care for patients. Responsibilities include:

• Providing patient care and interactions, and accurately documenting them in patient medical records
• Participating in telephone triage, obtaining clinically appropriate data and symptoms from patients, and advising and instructing patients according to established protocols and/or orders from providers
• Ensuring that all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and logged, and that providers are presented with all test results
• Administering medications, including injections, and checking vital signs, height, and weight
• Assisting with reviewing medication history and updating medication lists
• Participating in pre-visit planning with providers and care teams
• Utilizing standard precautions and complying with Policies, OSHA standards, CLIA regulations, and TJC standards

Requirements:

• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the applicable state
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Practical Nursing
• Previous medical office experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, bend, stoop, push, and pull
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases
• Must speak, read, and write Basic English fluently
