Internship in Origination and Structuring of Financings and Equity Derivatives (m/f/d)

HSBC is looking for a student intern to join the Strategic Equity & Financing (SEF) team in Paris for 6 months, starting in September 2026.

The SEF team provides tailored solutions for strategic equity situations to clients, including derivative products and financing.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analysis on public documents to identify origination opportunities for strategic capital operations
• Monitor European equity markets and company announcements to find origination opportunities
• Perform ad-hoc financial modeling using Excel
• Create marketing materials, internal memos, and client pitches
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as trading, coverage, and mergers and acquisitions
• Conduct quantitative studies on equities, including volume analysis and tracking share buyback programs
• Familiarise yourself with European regulations and norms

Profile:

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in finance or a related field (previous experience in investment banking or market finance is an asset)
• Strong knowledge of finance and basic mathematical tools
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Bloomberg and VBA experience is a plus)
• Strong work ethic, integration skills, autonomy, and attention to detail
• Fluency in English, French, and another foreign language (if possible)
