Launch Lead - MPL

Job Description

We are seeking a Launch Lead - MPL to join our team at Ford's FVL Hai Duong Plant in Vietnam.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Material Planning & Logistics (MPL) launch team, developing and executing the MPL Launch Master Schedule, and representing MPL in cross-functional launch meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a synchronous, waste-free material flow strategy from suppliers to the production line
• Designing lean plant layouts meeting Ford Production System (FPS) standards
• Establishing line-feeding, picking, and In-Line Vehicle Sequencing (ILVS)/Broadcast strategies
• Partnering with MPL Engineers and suppliers to design, test, and certify new racks and dunnage
• Ensuring timely setup and validation of MPL systems
• Validating Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and managing parts 'balance-out' and 'system fill'
• Managing the launch budget and reviewing/approving Premium Freight costs

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Launch Lead - MPL will be measured against the following KPIs:

• On-Time Launch Milestones: 100% on-time delivery of launch vehicles/parts
• MP&L Scorecard & Plant DOS Scorecard: achieving or exceeding set targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQDCME)
• Launch Budget & Premium Freight Control: managing launch-related logistics expenses and premium freight within the approved budget limit
• Inventory & Obsolescence Management: maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing obsolescence costs

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A university degree in Automotive, Automation, Mechanical engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Good follow-up, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Fluent English language skills
• Strong analyzing, planning, negotiating, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under high pressure and attention to detail
• Teamwork and drive for results
