Description
We are seeking an experienced Engine Components Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing core engine components, with a strong focus on aluminum castings for engine blocks and cylinder heads. You will create and manage 3D geometry and design concepts using Creo, ensuring designs comply with casting design rules, manufacturability, and quality requirements. You will also apply GD&T principles to define functional tolerances and ensure dimensional robustness, collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop core engine components, with a strong focus on aluminum castings for engine blocks and cylinder heads
- Create and manage 3D geometry and design concepts using Creo
- Ensure designs comply with casting design rules, manufacturability, and quality requirements
- Apply GD&T principles to define functional tolerances and ensure dimensional robustness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs
- Support technical reviews and design validation activities throughout the development cycle
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices
Requirements:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)
- Experience in automotive engine design or a similar industrial environment is preferred
- Strong knowledge of casting design for engine components
- Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling and concept development
- Solid understanding and practical application of GD&T
- Experience with engine block and/or cylinder head design is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Good technical communication skills
