Description
As a Feature Delivery Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the transition of feature designs into physical vehicle execution. You will assist in tracking the integration, delivery, and quality of vehicle features across global programs. Leveraging your foundational systems engineering knowledge and strong organizational skills, you will help coordinate cross-functional updates, monitor software and hardware readiness, and support issue resolution to keep program milestones on track.
Reporting directly to the Integration Supervisor within the Connectivity Vehicle Software team, this position operates under a hybrid work arrangement based at our IMG Product Development center in Campbellfield, Victoria.
Responsibilities:
- GPDS Gateway & Tool Management: Configure and manage program gateways in Jira/VSEM, tracking the delivery and maturity of 130+ features across approximately 40+ global Feature Owners.
- Feature Planning & Health Assessment: Establish the Bill of Features at program initiation (PS/PSC), secure stakeholder alignment, and compile/present Feature Health Assessment checklists for critical milestone reviews.
- Lifecycle Integration: Lead systems-level integration and feature maturity from Final Data Judgment (FDJ) through Okay-to-Buy (OKTB) and post-launch Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
- Change Management & Optimization: Execute vehicle-program-specific feature change management processes and optimize function allocation across modules to balance cost, quality, and performance.
- Stakeholder Guidance: Serve as the central technical advisor and subject matter expert, guiding Feature Owners on specifications, engineering frameworks, and delivery tools.
- Validation & Vehicle Evaluation: Support test plan execution during the FDJ Breadboard/HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) phase and represent the features team during Vehicle Engineering (VE) evaluation drives to monitor maturity.
- Triage & Root Cause Analysis: Lead PMT AIM/SIMPSN triage decks and leverage Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) tools (DFMEA, 8D, 5-Why) to rapidly root-cause and resolve complex software, electrical, and mechanical defects.
- Process Innovation & AI Automation: Drive continuous end-to-end lifecycle optimization and deploy AI-driven tools to automate reporting, triaging, and repetitive workflows.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in automotive systems engineering, product integration, or product development.
