Description
The role of the Solution Engineer, defined within the sales process, aims to design suitable solutions for customers, develop 'lean' offers combining AVL and third-party products with the necessary services, meet the customer's specified requirements, and ensure an accurate definition of costs in line with the commercial strategy.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with Key Account Manager (KAM), Global Account Manager (GAM), and Sales Engineer (SE) to develop sales opportunities and achieve commercial goals, providing feedback on market trends and competitor activities to support the company's strategy, acting as the primary technical interface towards the customer, supporting the definition of RFQs and analysis of requirements, proposing, presenting, and adapting customised solutions, communicating their value, unique selling points (USPs), and technical aspects clearly, developing and executing technical presentations at customer sites, elaborating competitive and accurate technical proposals, combining equipment, software, and services, ensuring the technical and economic correctness of offers, assuming responsibility for proposals, defining, organising, and coordinating cross-functional teams, defining and managing offer timelines in alignment with Sales and Operations functions, preparing technical offers in line with sales processes, including risk analysis and acceptance criteria definition, developing solutions, technical documentation, and Tabletop Drawings (TTDs), updating and monitoring offer data in Salesforce (status, versions, timelines), and ensuring correct handover of information to the Operations team.
Required profile includes a degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (University, Polytechnic, University of Applied Sciences/FH or equivalent), at least 2 years of experience in proposal engineering or solution engineering, good/ excellent knowledge of the English language, and availability for travel.
