We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.
Business: CTO Data Technology
In this role, you will:
- Lead Data Platform As A Service solution design & reviews; make clear trade-offs across resilience, performance, cost, and time-to-market
- Drive engineering excellence: CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and release governance
- Leads by doing (not managing): guides engineers/teams through complexity and raises engineering standards through day-to-day actions
- Strong engineering fundamentals with a continuous improvement and Open Source First mindset; willing to learn the best tool/language for the problem
- Define reference architectures and reusable patterns for ingestion, transformation, and serving on cloud-native technology stacks with Open Source Stacks
- Modern delivery and operations experience: end-to-end ownership, continuous delivery/DevOps practices, and use of operational metrics (e.g., DORA)
- Broad engineering exposure across platform/infrastructure/function-as-a-service, plus agile values-based delivery
- AI/ML technology evolution focus: stays current on applied Artificial Intelligence (including Generative AI) and identifies practical opportunities to embed AI into data and engineering workflows (e.g., intelligent automation, improved observability, developer productivity), while maintaining engineering quality
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in relevant technologies
- Deep subject matter expertise to implement Data Platform services, with strong teamwork, gathering information and analyzing, judgment and decision making, communication competencies
- Strong data technology delivery record in global capacity, as well as full literacy to articulate key technology trends (e.g. Data & AI) and regulatory expectations (e.g. Data Privacy & Localization etc) in context of HSBC
- Data Engineering (Python, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Hadoop, NiFi/Kafka, RDBMS) with Open Source Stacks, Cloud SQL,
- Deep subject matter expertise on cloud-native technology, Git, Jenkins, Airflow, Pub/Sub/Kafka, CI/CD
- Practical experience with Agentic Engineering & LLM services, including deploying/consuming endpoints
- Experience with IT automation tools and DevSecOps practices and technologies /WX
