Manager, Software Test & Autonomation (R5461)

Shield AI's Software Test & Automation Team is responsible for developing verification, validation, and automation capabilities for Hivemind autonomy across various portfolios.

As the Software Test & Automation Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to define verification strategies, build automated validation capabilities, and establish software readiness standards across a diverse portfolio, including XBAT, VBAT, Weapons, Space, Maritime, and other emerging autonomy programs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a team of Software Test & Automation Engineers
• Define verification and validation strategies spanning simulation, SIL, HIL, VIL, and operational test environments
• Drive the development of automated regression testing, validation frameworks, and test infrastructure
• Establish software readiness criteria, quality gates, and objective performance metrics
• Partner with Digital Infrastructure to integrate automated validation into CI/CD pipelines
• Develop common automation frameworks, reusable test assets, and validation methodologies
• Coordinate software readiness activities with cross-functional teams
• Develop technical roadmaps, staffing plans, and engineering priorities
• Mentor engineers, conduct performance reviews, and recruit top talent
• Present software readiness assessments, technical risks, and validation status to stakeholders

Required qualifications:

• Experience leading a team of Software Test & Automation Engineers
• Experience defining verification and validation strategies
• Experience driving the development of automated regression testing and validation frameworks
• Experience establishing software readiness criteria and quality gates
• Experience partnering with digital infrastructure teams
• Experience developing technical roadmaps and staffing plans

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience supporting autonomous systems, robotics, or unmanned platforms
• Experience with software quality tools such as SonarQube
• Experience with ROS
• Experience developing software readiness metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting
• Experience supporting DoD programs and customer demonstrations
