It's an exciting time to be part of our growing organisation. We are seeking a Health Physicist to join our team at Plant Hatch. As a Health Physicist, you will play a key role in monitoring all aspects of the Radiation Protection program and performance indicators. This includes implementing special projects to improve Radiation Protection Programs, implementing RP Technical Programs and associated responsibilities, site dosimetry support, tracking/trending all radiological data related to plant performance indicators, benchmarking industry on Radiation Protection issues and site performance, filling the Emergency Response Organisation position, and additional support for RP department responsibilities as needed. You will also be responsible for administrative and document control duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Radiation Protection Technology, a Physical Science or equivalent, and a strong background in Health Physics or Radiation Protection programs. A Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Protection, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry or other physical science is preferred, as well as a Master's Degree in Health Physics or Engineering. NRRPT or CHP is also preferred.
In addition to your education, you will need to have experience in Health Physics or Radiation Protection programs, BWR experience is preferred, experience with nuclear power plant outages, access control is preferred, and be able to obtain an unescorted badge at all SNC sites.
As a Health Physicist, you will be expected to have strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases, outstanding oral and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, strong ability to make decisions and drive behaviours, strong interpersonal skills, and a strong working knowledge of BWR nuclear power plant systems, processes, and procedures and clear understanding of and ability to apply regulatory requirements to plant settings.
