Description
TGR Haas F1 Team, a stalwart of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, is seeking an Aero Physical Testing & Analysis Engineer to join their team in Maranello, Italy.
The successful candidate will report to the Team Leader of the Aero Physical Testing Group and will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders, and ensuring high standards of service, compliance, and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Wind Tunnel realism studies to improve testing representativeness and predictive accuracy
- Defining, maintaining, and developing Wind Tunnel maps and performance metrics
- Executing and analyzing dedicated Wind Tunnel and bench experiments
- Driving the application and advancement of aerodynamic measurement techniques
- Performing correlation studies across Wind Tunnel, Track, CFD, and benches
- Building and maintaining models, analysis routines, and software tools
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on aerodynamics/fluid dynamics preferred. PhD and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in Formula 1 is also preferred.
The role requires:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering tools
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++)
- Knowledge of data acquisition systems and telemetry analysis tools
- Familiarity with CFD and CAD software (e.g., CATIA/3DX)
- Excellent understanding of English language
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics and fluid dynamics
- Solid knowledge of mathematical modelling, machine learning, and statistics principles
