Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Optical Simulation Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Group (ATG). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing micro-optical components for NVIDIA's products. Your work will involve defining mechanical-optical design rules using simulation software, collaborating with vendors to set DOE plans and data acquisition, running optical test systems to determine product performance, and root cause analysis and debugging unique failures. You will also collaborate with multi-functional teams within NVIDIA and define optical packaging requirements.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in precision mechanical components and advanced manufacturing. You should be proficient in one of the underlying fields such as mechanical engineering, optical devices, and materials processing. You should also have knowledge in micro-optic design and optical termination standards, basic photonic device knowledge, and working knowledge of optical simulation software like Lumerical and Zemax.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. You should also be able to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
If you are a creative and autonomous engineer with real passion for technology, we want to hear from you!
