GPS Head of Engineering

The GPS Head of Engineering is a hands-on SME engineering role responsible for owning and driving the engineering strategy and delivery quality for GPS.

The Payments Services Technology team, based across 10 countries, facilitates payments processing, sanctions screening, and clearing and settling of payments via SWIFT and in-country Domestic Payment schemes.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a scalable elevated architecture to accelerate business delivery
• Provide thought leadership on DevOps and AI development methodologies
• Manage cross-skilling and re/up-skilling of the organisation
• Lead proactive risk management culture
• Own planning and tracking of financial forecasts and resource planning
• Develop and manage high-performing engineering teams
• Provide SME knowledge in cloud-based micro-service architecture
• Collaborate with engineering and support leads to provide a secure and resilient framework for payments services
• Partner with the GPS AI lead to develop an AI-enabled PDLC

Desired experience profile:

• 13+ years of leadership experience in technology and architecture, preferably in banking and financial services
• Strong knowledge of API technology, containerisation, microservices
• Experience managing/influencing dev teams across multiple locations and geographies
• Ability to drive and lead change in a global organisation
• Strong business and technology acumen
