Description

Secure Every Identity

Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organisations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes.

We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence. This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.

The role

Okta enables universal, secure access to technology for every user and organisation. We secure the digital identity landscape by building seamless authentication experiences that scale across global enterprises. Our mission is to eliminate friction in the identity lifecycle while maintaining a rigorous security posture for every digital interaction. We authenticate billions of logins per month. The Authenticators team owns the credentials behind every one of them.

We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead strategy for Okta's phishing-resistant credentials, including passkeys, FIDO2 WebAuthn, PIV, Yubikey, password policy, and the recovery flows that protect the largest enterprises in the world.

What you will own

Three forcing functions converge in FY27. Regulators demand phishing-resistant credentials by default (NIST SP 800-63B Rev 4, EU PSD2, FedRAMP High). Attackers bypass passwords and SMS at industrial scale. AI agents need machine-verifiable credentials that humans can govern. The Senior PM in this role decides how Okta meets all three.

Phishing-resistant authenticators: passkeys (synced and device-bound), FIDO2 WebAuthn, PIV smart cards, Yubikey OTP and FIDO. Non-phishing-resistant authenticators: SMS, voice, email magic link, security questions, password policy.

A day in the life

Mornings start with customer escalations or field requests. You run a review with engineering and design, then take a customer call with a Fortune 500 security team. You partner with the stakeholders, PMs etc. on cross-pillar deliverables. You write specs in plain prose with explicit problem statements before any solution framing. You do not ship a feature without a measurable customer outcome attached. Your customer personas are Okta administrators and technical decision makers, so you communicate through technical documentation, working demos, and direct conversations with customer security teams. With the help of AI you move fast and iterate quickly.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering, design and research teams to define and document user stories and use-cases to guide product development.

Define and execute product roadmap and prioritise features for Access Management

Collaborate with product marketing and developer relations to support the creation of messaging and content and enable the sales team.

Conduct research and analysis to identify customer needs and pain points, and use this information to inform innovation, product decisions and prioritisation

Develop, research, and clearly communicate product strategies across different levels of stakeholders and leadership chain

Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including engineering, field teams, tech partnerships, and marketing, to ensure the successful launch and adoption of Okta integrations.

Define and communicate product requirements, including features, user experience, and technical specifications, to engineering teams.

Leverage product data to continually get smarter about how to improve our existing products, and work across the business to drive adoption and success

Track industry trends and think strategically to develop solutions that are differentiated from the competition

Be the subject matter expert for your product area and help enable your counterparts in the core product, Marketing, and tech partnerships teams.

Required

5+ years of Technical Product Management experience in enterprise scale SaaS products, Identity and Access management or comparable relevant experience.

Experience building or product managing the feature areas for enterprise platform ecosystems/services.

Experience developing, socialising, and driving strategies spanning multiple parts of an organisation. Track record of owning and delivering on large strategic projects - you can see the big picture, but deliver on the details.

Strong communication (presentation, verbal and written) and collaboration skills. You easily work with customers and colleagues across different functions and backgrounds.

Demonstrated business results from products, features or capabilities you have shipped.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You can produce solid action plans from often incomplete, conflicting or ambiguous inputs.

Passion for Okta’s huge opportunity and growth potential, and general thirst for learning with an ability to go broad and deep across business and technical contexts.

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or technical degree that allows you to rationalise and influence technical design decisions.

Functional leadership experience, MBA, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

Familiarity with Identity and Access management protocols and products.

Advanced degree in technical or business field.

Experience across the product management lifecycle for enterprise products or services, integration considerations surfaced in the user experience in particular.

Experience with creating requirements for security focused customers.

Top 3 qualities we are hiring for

Complete ownership. You take the area as your own. When in doubt, you decide.

Decision-making with mixed inputs. You make calls with data, anecdotes, and judgment. You name your assumptions explicitly and revise them in public when new information arrives.

Influence without authority. You bring engineering, design, marketing, and field along with you. You speak for the team in customer rooms and executive reviews.
