Description
As a Controls Engineering Specialist at Ford's Chihuahua Engine Plant, you will design, implement, and maintain automation and control systems for machining processes.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up on Launch machining controls engineering deliverables for Power Train Operations programs
- Implement and apply standard software and hardware controls architectures across all programs/plants
- Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned and their application to new programs
- Participate in simultaneous engineering meetings with Tier I suppliers and management program reviews
- Drive the controls organization to resolve issues, including feasibility, timing, cost, and workload
- Handle current scope program responsibilities
- Travel up to 80% during peak program times and work off-shift as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- Experience in controls engineering with strong ability to quickly learn and apply controls knowledge
- Extensive software programming experience, preferably with Siemens
- Direct program experience with assembly and machining controls architectures
- Validated programming capabilities with Siemens, Schneider, Bosch PLCs, and CNC/Motion controls systems
- Hands-on knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix PLC, CNC, robot, vision, and other automation issues
