Description
At Whiting Clean Energy, you'll work in a collaborative team delivering big impact. As an Instrument Technician, you'll maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems. This includes installing and commissioning control systems and plant equipment, diagnosing issues across PLCs, VFDs, and turbine control systems, executing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, supporting plant outages and continuous improvement efforts, and partnering with team members and contractors to ensure safe, reliable operations.
To succeed in this role, you'll need an Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Journeyman-level experience (5+ years). You should have hands-on experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance, ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and one-lines, working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and control systems, familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and experience safely using electrical test equipment (voltmeters, ammeters, etc.).
The starting pay is $35.28/hour, with opportunity to rise after successful completion of required trainings and certifications.
