Description

Join HSBC as a Responsible Credit in our Continental Europe Wholesale Credit Risk Management team in Paris. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing credit risk for France and other European countries, including Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Poland, Czech Republic, Nordic countries, Malta, and Germany.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a defined portfolio related to large credit risk questions
  • Examining, recommending, and approving credit proposals for HSBC, in accordance with authorised credit limits
  • Maintaining a solid credit quality, in line with the Group's conservative, constructive, and competitive credit culture
  • Promoting prudent lending principles to ensure high-quality assets and minimise credit losses
  • Identifying and highlighting emerging risks and sub-standard credit exposures, and ensuring appropriate measures are taken to protect the Bank's interests
  • Regularly engaging with internal stakeholders and clients, understanding and sharing the vision, best practices, challenges, and potential solutions; and collaborating on transaction pipelines, credit directives, portfolio or product analyses, appetite definition, and other credit risk-related initiatives
  • Maintaining regular communication with business teams, products, and the Group, reinforcing HSBC's strong brand reputation among third parties

If you have the following skills and experience, we encourage you to apply:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Experience in operational environments to understand effective risk management applications
  • Collaboration at all levels of the organisation to understand interfunctional links and dependencies, as well as global operational dynamics
  • Development of professional skills to determine risk-based solutions
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to argue for risk management in business language
  • Proven ability to prioritise competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate risk trends, both internally and externally
  • Maturity, resilience, and excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written); French would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting
