Job Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer II at Carta, you will lead technically complex projects and serve as a multiplier for your team. You will drive the implementation of complex technical projects, simplify systems, leverage modern tooling, foster growth, and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of complex technical projects, driving them from concept to production while maintaining high standards for performance and reliability.
• Identify opportunities to simplify code and infrastructure, prioritizing changes that have a measurable business impact.
• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflow, improve code quality, and solve high-level logic and unconventional problems.
• Mentor and coach peers, raising the technical bar through diligent PR reviews and architectural guidance.
• Partner with product and design to ensure the right solution is built for the user.

Requirements

• Experience with Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka (or a desire to learn).
• Ability to break down complex user stories into actionable tasks and execute them with minimal guidance.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Salary Range

The expected cash compensation range for this role is $181,050 - $213,000 CAD in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
