Description

We're looking for a talented Ford Customization Designer to join our team. As a Ford Customization Designer, you will be responsible for forecasting design trends and analyzing Brand DNA to ensure all designs align with the vehicle line's identity. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment, interfacing directly with Planning, Marketing, and Engineering teams, as well as external vendors. Your role is critical in bridging the gap between initial 2D/3D concepts and the final development of physical models, ensuring all project objectives and timelines are met with the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Create unique exterior and interior design proposals for Vehicle Personalization projects.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D concepts using appropriate computer technology and software.
  • Forecast design trends as they apply to the respective project.
  • Analyze Design Brand DNA as it relates to the vehicle line and create appropriate designs.
  • Gather input from Ford Customization management and interface with Planning, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, including product marketing, engineering, and vendors, to execute project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Follow the development of physical models.
  • Deliver projects on time and with high quality, based on agreed schedules with VP management.
  • Abide by all established Security guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of professional experience in transportation design
  • 3+ years of experience using 2D sketching and rendering with proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, V-Red, and Microsoft Office.
  • 1+ years of experience using AI tools
  • Must have a transportation design portfolio to share

Even better, you may have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design.
  • Experience preparing presentation boards and presentations in PowerPoint; ability to visually articulate brand vision and definition through a design portfolio.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, communication, and organization skills; ability to write, sketch, and manage a wide variety of content in a fast-paced environment.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
