Job Overview
Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform, is seeking a Privacy Fellow to work on complex technical and legal problems related to privacy and data protection. In this role, you will work closely with Stripe's privacy legal team and cross-functional privacy teams to develop procedures, playbooks, and templates to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Work across a spectrum of privacy topics within the business.
- Collaborate with Stripe's privacy legal and cross-functional privacy teams to develop procedures, playbooks, and templates.
- Ensure Stripe's practices, products, and services comply with applicable law and privacy and security commitments.
- Contribute to Stripe's privacy and data protection compliance program, including continuous compliance efforts for GDPR, CCPA, and similar data compliance operational work.
- Analyze existing and new legislative and regulatory developments to ensure Stripe understands and remains compliant with evolving requirements.
- Use AI tools to support research, drafting, and analysis.
Requirements
- Passionate about privacy and data protection with a desire to become a subject matter expert.
- Organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to work on long and short-term projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Team player, willing to pitch in where needed in a fast-paced, growing company.
- Decisive, capable of making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information.
- Comfortable using AI tools and eager to adopt them as part of daily workflow.
- Passionate about Stripe's mission of helping businesses grow and thrive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience with privacy, data protection, legal research, or compliance is welcome, though not expected.
- Ideally based in the SF Bay Area or Seattle.
