Description
Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA), the exclusive production facility for the Ford Mustang GTD, is seeking a high-performing Assistant Controller to support financial leadership at its Newmarket manufacturing site.
This role serves as a key business partner to the Controller and General Manager, driving financial transparency, operational performance, and manufacturing efficiency. The successful candidate will lead plant-level financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal controls while leveraging SAP and data-driven insights to optimize decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Internal Controls:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes ensuring compliance with ASPE/GAAP and corporate policies
- Maintain general ledger integrity, including reconciliations and variance analysis
- Establish and enhance internal controls to ensure audit readiness and compliance
- Support internal and annual external audits
Manufacturing Finance & Cost Accounting:
- Manage standard costing methodology and updates
- Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labour, overhead)
- Oversee inventory including cycle counts, valuation, and obsolescence
- Review and improve Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and costing
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:
- Lead annual budget and quarterly forecast processes
- Provide monthly financial performance analysis to management
- Develop KPIs and dashboards for operational performance
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Act as SAP finance SME at the plant level
- Improve financial processes and reporting workflows
- Support SAP implementations or system enhancements
Business Partnering:
- Partner with operations and plant leadership on cost, efficiency, and profitability improvements
- Provide clear financial insights to support decision-making
Leadership & Team Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of the finance team (AR, AP, and general accounting) to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Serve as the plant’s financial super-user for SAP, optimizing workflows and ensuring accurate data mapping across all modules
- Establish best practices and standardized procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- CPA designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of finance experience, including advanced costing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong, hands-on experience with SAP ERP (experience during SAP implementation is highly valued)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- An inquisitive, self-starting mindset with advanced Excel and data-mining skills
- Strong communication skills and detail-oriented
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Power BI is an asset
- Highly organized and skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
The total cash compensation range for this position is expected to be: $84,000.00 - $134,000.00
