Description
About the role
As an Integration Reliability Engineer, Technical Operations at Stripe, you will play a critical role in improving the health and resilience of our payment acquiring volume. You will scope and lead technical initiatives end-to-end, investigate problems in systems, design future anomaly detection systems and tools, and engage with Stripe's financial partners to drive alignment on product usage.
Responsibilities
- Scope and lead technical initiatives end-to-end: identify problems worth solving, propose the right solution approach, and deliver on that solution , not just execute on a pre-defined plan.
- Investigate problems in systems by tracing problems through Stripe’s stack. You’ll examine code, write SQL queries, read logs, and inspect data pipelines to understand system behavior, then make changes to address.
- Examine updates being made by Stripe’s financial partners to understand impact, and make the changes within Stripe to gracefully handle.
- Design future anomaly detection systems and tools to ensure that financial data flowing through our partner and internal systems is reliable and correct.
- Identify and automate inefficient or unnecessary manual processes by making direct code changes, or coordinating more complex code changes across Stripe.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Engage with Stripe's financial partners to drive alignment on product usage, troubleshoot and solve technical problems or breakages.
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience in a technical role (eg: Technical Operations, Software Engineer, etc.) or a technical user facing role (e.g. Solutions Architecture, Integration Engineer).
- Write high-quality code that scales effectively.
- Expertise in SQL and data visualization, proven experience analyzing complex datasets.
- Comfort with developer tools (e.g. git).
- Strong technical problem-solving skills, able to understand technical systems using a variety of methods. These include reading/writing code, reading documentation or partner specifications, debugging, asking well-formed questions to domain experts, or digging into raw data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- A strong interest in understanding the root cause of issues and building a durable solution.
