GitLab is seeking an FP&A Manager, R&D to join its team remotely in the US.

The FP&A team at GitLab partners with executive team members to provide timely, fact-based, data-driven decision support. The team drives annual planning, owns the operating plan and long-term financial model, internal financial reporting, and financial and analytical tools.

As an FP&A Manager, R&D, you will work closely with the R&D team and report to the Director of FP&A. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business Partnership: Influencing outcomes in cross-functional settings, owning relationships with partners, and providing advice and guidance.
  • Financial Modeling: Developing models to address new and ambiguous business issues or opportunities, and overseeing modeling efforts.
  • Planning and Financial Analysis: Improving and driving financial processes and policies with minimal guidance.
  • Data Analysis: Translating analysis into clear data-driven storylines and actionable insights.
  • Project Management: Running large complex projects that improve data-driven insights or make the company more efficient.
  • Communication: Communicating with the CFO, CFO staff, and functional VPs.
  • Mentorship: Mentoring other team members in modeling, analysis, and finance.
  • Autonomy: Independently delivering and prioritizing projects with clear scope.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a finance role, ideally with an enterprise SaaS software model.
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant degree. Relevant certification (e.g., CFA/CPA) is a plus.
  • Experience as an expert owning a business function as a finance business partner, preferably partnering with engineering or product leadership.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to quickly build from scratch.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into clear narratives and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn and use GitLab.
