Procurement Senior Specialist

We are seeking a Procurement Senior Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Company. As a Procurement Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for bringing spend within your category under procurement management, leading strategies to achieve optimal cost reduction, and ensuring the management of supplier relationships and risk.

Key Accountabilities:

• Execute sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and supplier selection in alignment with category strategies.
• Conduct basic market research to identify sourcing opportunities and supplier trends.
• Support cost analysis and spend reporting, identifying potential savings opportunities, and communicate Total Cost of Ownership to all stakeholders.
• Responsible to support supplier onboarding, risk management, and contract compliance.
• Meet category SEQCDM performance targets and measures, monitor progress and implement countermeasures when necessary.
• Manage legal and commercial contracts, partner with internal stakeholders, and align contractual expectations with category strategies.
• Lead process improvement and business plan execution.
• Effectively execute stakeholder management to build a network of productive relationships across the organization to achieve category strategies.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in either a Purchasing and/or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on education.
• Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Familiarity with SAP, Ariba or major ERP system(s).
• Basic understanding of commercial terms / conditions and identifying / negotiating master agreement requirements; ability to identify engagement risk factors and ensure commercial contracts and legal agreements appropriately mitigate risk and protect Honda.
• Understanding of, and experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies.
• Able to explain complex data in an understandable manner for a wide range of audiences.
• Implement long-term development strategies for category.
• Communication / negotiation skills for various audience levels.

Working Conditions:

• Hybrid role with expectation to be on-site/in-office 80% of the time.
• Up to 25% Travel – Ability to Travel on Short Notice for N.A. Support.
• ~5 Hours per Week OT.
