Description

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Analytics Team at Anduril, you will collaborate with stakeholders to design, build, and implement data pipelines and models that enable the company's next-generation technology.

The Analytics space is a key part of the team's DNA, with regular discussions on industry shifts and relevant blogs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and roadmap for the data platform
  • Partner with operations, product, and engineering to advocate best practices and build supporting systems and infrastructure for various data needs
  • Own the ingest and egress frameworks for data pipelines that integrate multiple data sources to produce valuable data products
  • Work with Palantir Foundry, the central hub for data-driven applications, visualizations, and large-scale data analysis
  • Utilize SQLMesh for data transformations, allowing engineers to work with SQL while following software engineering best practices
  • Query data using Athena, an AWS serverless solution for running analytics directly on the data lake
  • Implement Apache Iceberg as the table format, providing advanced data management capabilities
  • Use Flyte for orchestration, a highly scalable, Kubernetes-native modern orchestration platform
  • Operate in a 'player-coach' capacity, leading team members while remaining hands-on as a contributor

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role building products, ideally in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivation to work on solving the biggest problems in defence
  • Strong foundations in Python or another language
  • Experience with Spark, PySpark, SQL, and dbt
  • Experience with Enterprise Data Systems like Palantir Foundry
  • Experience with or interest in developing data services and data products
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP security ecosystems, containerization, and associated tooling
  • Knowledge of data and visualization tools, such as Tableau
  • Understanding of the importance of engineering with security best practices in mind
  • Empathetic and eager to see the world from users' perspectives
  • Self-starter with a drive to take ownership of and debug complex data transformation pipelines and data models
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
