We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Global Payments Experiences team at Stripe. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the success of your team, driving efficient engineering teams, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet user needs.
Responsibilities
- Build full-stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including back-end services, and integrations with other Stripe primitives
- Understand user needs and pain points to prioritize engineering work and deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, partnerships, eng platforms, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions
- Recruit top engineering talent in partnership with Stripe's recruiting team to build a diverse and high-performing team
- Lead and manage a team of talented engineers on the team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success
- Drive the execution of projects, overseeing the entire development lifecycle from planning to delivery, while maintaining high standards of quality and timely completion
- Provide hands-on technical leadership (architecture/design, vision/direction/requirements setting, and incident response processes) for your reports
- Set the team's direction, from north star vision, to goals/OKRs, and roadmap
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale
- 10+ years of full-time software development experience, with a strong background in backend development
- Experience working across geographies
- Experience leading teams that with a growth charter, which have used experimentation to drive product usage and growth
- Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experiences working in payments and on payments technology
- Previous experience using Stripe products
