Senior BOM Sourcing Engineer

The Senior BOM Sourcing Engineer drives strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles. This involves collaborating with suppliers and cross-functionally with teams in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list
• Partnering with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-off tables, should-cost models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs
• Developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp up production internally and with suppliers
• Managing CAPEX throughout New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Optimizing supply network lead time and flexibility through value-stream mapping
• Conducting BOM risk assessments, including identifying alternate component sourcing
• Ensuring completion of all component qualifications ahead of production
• Reducing complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization
• Leading cost engineering activities to minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
• Managing ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs and import/export costs

The ideal candidate has:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field
• At least 5 years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement, or design of electronics and mechanical devices
• Expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level
• Ability to travel 10-40% of the time, depending on program needs
• Willingness to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, deeper experience in design and development of electronics/mechanical devices, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, and early supplier engagement.
