Description

Ford of Canada is seeking a Test Engineer for its SYNC system, a cutting-edge infotainment system designed to enhance the driving experience through advanced technology.

The successful candidate will be involved in the full lifecycle of embedded software development for Ford SYNC, focusing on testing and validating next-generation application frameworks that provide common services and APIs for UI applications and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and review plans to test and verify the functionality of APIs and Features.
  • Develop and execute functional test scripts and apps using Python, C++, Java, and Kotlin.
  • Create detailed defect reports when issues are found.
  • Participate in system design, documentation, and testing to deliver a best-in-class infotainment system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing with Python, C++, Java, or Kotlin on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms.
  • Experience with functional testing and testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software testing experience.
  • Experience with multi-process, multi-tasking, or multi-threaded applications.
  • Testing experience with embedded operating systems like Linux, Android, or QNX.
  • Knowledge of automotive product development and quality processes (e.g., A-SPICE, CMMI, FMEA).
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git or Subversion.
  • Experience generating test cases from requirements and automating tests using Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $89,000.00 to $139,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in the Annual Compensation bonus program.
