As a Staff Engineer in Analog Design, you will lead the design and development of advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits, blocks, and subsystems from concept to production. You will develop architecture proposals and evaluate tradeoffs for performance, power, area, and cost using real project constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and development of advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits, blocks, and subsystems from concept to production
- Developing architecture proposals and evaluating tradeoffs for performance, power, area, and cost using real project constraints
- Running circuit simulation, verification, and optimization with industry-standard tools like SPICE and Spectre
- Owning tape-out activities, silicon bring-up, debug, and hands-on characterization in the lab
- Partnering with layout engineers to ensure your design intent carries through to silicon, with an eye on manufacturability and robustness
- Defining and executing validation plans that actually catch what matters, meeting product requirements, not just checklists
- Reviewing specs, schematics, and lab results, and driving design reviews that raise the technical bar
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership across projects and teams
- Working cross-functionally with system, digital, validation, and product teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving
- Driving improvements in design methodologies and best practices so the next project runs smoother than the last
The Impact You Will Have:
- Delivering high-quality analog and mixed-signal designs that hit performance targets and ship on schedule
- Raising the technical standard across multiple projects by pushing for clarity in specs, reviews, and debug
- Ensuring smooth transitions from design to layout, validation, and production, cutting down last-minute surprises
- Rapidly identifying and resolving silicon issues so products meet customer needs without delay
- Building a stronger engineering culture by mentoring, sharing knowledge, and leading by example
- Enabling the team to take on more complex challenges with confidence in their analog and mixed-signal foundation
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (master’s or PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in analog and/or mixed-signal IC design
- Deep understanding of transistor-level circuit design and analysis, you know your way around a schematic and simulation results
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE, Spectre, or equivalent for real-world design and debug
- Practical experience with silicon debug, characterization, and using lab equipment to close the loop between simulation and silicon
- Knowledge of design methodologies for robustness, reliability, and testability, you build designs that survive manufacturing and field stress
- Experience with high-speed interfaces, data converters, PLLs, power management, sensors, or similar analog/mixed-signal blocks is a plus
- Familiarity with deep submicron CMOS processes is helpful
- Exposure to DFT, DFM, or product engineering flows is a plus, not a must
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical discussions is valued
Who You Are:
- You catch design flaws early and are not afraid to ask the tough questions in a review
- You can explain a complex tradeoff to a VP in two sentences, and then walk a new grad through the details in the lab
- You are hands-on and do not shy away from the bench or the simulation deck when something does not add up
- You keep projects moving by collaborating across teams, not waiting for handoffs to solve issues
- You push for better processes and tools because you know the pain of doing things the hard way twice
- You share what you know and lift up the engineers around you
