Directly reporting to the Producer, the Technical Art Director is responsible for research, innovation, and the technical quality of the production.
Main Responsibilities: Develop and implement technology roadmaps tailored to the specific needs of the project; Identify potential risks and report them to management; Act as a reference for the team in all matters related to Technical Art and provide solutions to complex issues; Optimize content to improve memory usage and performance; Contribute to asset development and rendering (models, shaders, textures) when necessary; Communicate effectively and encourage open dialogue within the team; Stay up to date with current and emerging trends and methodologies in graphics software and hardware (including generative AI) to anticipate tooling and workflow needs.
Qualifications: Solid experience as a Technical Art Director on AAA or AA productions, across pre-production, production, and early stages of a multiplayer game developed with Unreal Engine 5; Significant experience with Unreal Engine (Nanite, Chaos, Landscape, Blueprint, Megalights, Insights), along with a strong understanding of realistic art workflows and production pipelines; Experience worked on a wide range of world-building topics such as level art, destruction systems (e.g., Chaos), lighting, props, level design, landscapes, water, etc.; Strong technical skills in performance, optimization, pipelines, and a solid understanding of replication challenges; Proficient in at least one 3D modeling software (Blender, 3DS Max, Substance Designer, Maya, etc.) as well as generative AI tools (ComfyUI, MidJourney, NanoBanana, Hunyuan, etc.); Solid scripting skills (Maxscript, Python, etc.);
