Description

The Windows Attack Research & Protection (WARP) team at Microsoft is seeking a Principal Security Engineer Manager to lead a team of security engineers in building cutting-edge automation for vulnerability discovery and remediation.

As a Principal Security Engineer Manager, you will oversee the development of highly reliable systems that identify and quantify security vulnerabilities in native code. You will also build world-class tools to enable security researchers to work more effectively and devise new methods to systematically detect vulnerabilities at scale.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of engineers in building highly reliable systems that find, explain, and quantify the impact of security vulnerabilities in native code.
  • Building world-class tools to enable security researchers to work more effectively and find new categories of vulnerabilities.
  • Devising new methods to systematically detect vulnerabilities at scale.
  • Building tools to enable developers to perform automated, scalable security testing.
  • Collaborating with product teams to improve security and articulating the business value of security investments.
  • Creating clarity, energy, and cohesion across the team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with native code (C/C++), building agentic systems and tools, a clear understanding of OS security fundamentals, and solid computer science skills.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 – $274,800 per year.
