SBN - Sr Hotel Storekeeper - TSTC

Join Seabourn Cruise Line, a leader in ultra-luxury cruising, and be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a Senior Hotel Storekeeper, you will report to the Provision Master and oversee the main storeroom operations, including provision rooms and hotel stores.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Provision Master in receiving stores according to the standard item list.
• Ensure storerooms are prepared for the next delivery of goods, with space made available as stock rotation occurs.
• Cooperate with purchasing department representatives to ensure all stores ordered are received in good condition according to Seabourn standards. Liaise with the Executive Chef de Cuisine for fresh produce, perishables, and fish.
• Account for all stores within 24 hours after loading, checking on the pier upon receipt of goods when possible.
• Conduct quantity checks as soon as possible after sailing during major storing.
• Report discrepancies on invoices to the Provision Master on the day of storing.
• Familiarize and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to the position.
• Maintain and store all equipment, including forklifts, platforms, hand jacks, and electrical pallet jacks, ensuring they are in good working order and fully charged prior to loading.
• Supervise the loading and usage of equipment, ensuring sufficient personnel are available to handle storing. Advise the Provision Master if additional staff is required.
• Approve all items to be offloaded, ensuring they are manifested via landing manifest and clearly labeled with a copy of the manifest attached.
• Manage daily requisitions from the kitchen, bar, and housekeeping departments, and scheduled requisitions for sundries, hotel, and consumable items approximately every seven days, except for wine cellar bonded items, which are requisitioned daily.
• Ensure all requisitions are approved by the Provision Master, Chef, or Hotel Director before issuing. Notify appropriate personnel of any requisition shortages and unmet requirements.

Requirements

• GCSEs or equivalent, particularly in mathematics and English.
• Strong command of the English language with good written skills.
• Minimum of 3 years of shipboard experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general storeroom procedures and practices.
• Familiarity with onboard F&B and hotel department operations.
• Ability to work on own initiative and lead by example within a supervisory role.
• Fair knowledge of food and beverage products.
• Ability to work in a team focused on exceeding guest expectations.
• Ability to execute and follow up on standard operating procedures.
• Proven ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high performance and maintain a positive work environment.

• Travel Requirements:

• Working Conditions: Working on a cruise ship is different from any land-based occupation. Working hours are longer and more intense due to the constant demand of guests. Flexibility in working hours is required, as they may change due to unforeseen circumstances. The Maritime Labour Convention of 2006 strictly regulates these hours. Additionally, there are strict rules that all members of the ship's company must adhere to, as stipulated by the Master's standing orders. You will work in close proximity with fellow crewmembers, making mutual respect essential.
