Cloud Engineer

Millennium is a global, diversified alternative investment firm, founded in 1989. We are seeking a Cloud Platform / Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native infrastructure that enables teams across the firm to deploy workloads safely and reliably at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Design cloud-native architecture solutions grounded in the pillars of the AWS Well-Architected Framework: Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization
  • Build CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
  • Establish infrastructure-as-code practices that make our systems reproducible and auditable
  • Work closely with software engineers to ensure our cloud platforms are secure, scalable, and operationally excellent
  • Use AI and other automation to increase teams' visibility into their cloud costs and migration onto strategic infrastructure
  • Help teams understand risks and plan for proper business continuity
  • Beyond immediate delivery, you'll help define platform infrastructure best practices that scale across the firm's broader cloud-native footprint

What You Bring

  • Strong AWS expertise
  • VPC architecture, IAM, EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, networking, and data lake architectures
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including designing container architectures for multi-tenant workloads
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, with Python and/or Bash for tooling and automation
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, plus GitOps workflows and CI/CD platforms (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Proficiency with Observability tooling similar to Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years (or a Master's degree with 2 years) in a cloud/infrastructure/DevOps engineering role
  • Technical leadership - ability to drive architectural decisions and mentor others, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A desire to deliver cutting-edge infrastructure in a fast-moving environment, with a commitment to staying current on cloud-native infrastructure, container security, and workload deployment
