Description

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners and vendors to develop and deploy core banking products, adhering to HSBC processes and coding standards.
  • Analyse requirements, develop and review technical designs, and write code according to specifications.
  • Conduct reviews of design, code, test plans, and test results.
  • Prepare unit and system test plans, and perform unit testing and system integration testing.
  • Proactively suggest solutions to issues and incidents reported on the products.
  • Take personal responsibility for surfacing and solving issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to compliance and operational risk controls.
  • Participate in change advisory boards and regional quality forums as required.
  • Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives are met for all delivered software solutions.
  • Work with operations, development, and test engineers to identify and address operational issues.

Requirements

  • University graduate with a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in IT, with solid knowledge of application development and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical time-sensitive objectives, with emphasis on planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in written English; spoken English is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS400, RPGLE, CL on iSeries is preferred.
  • Solid domain knowledge of HUB, Core Banking, Interface, Payment, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience in API development and knowledge of HSBC API development standards.
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot is preferred.
  • Awareness of Agile/DevOps approaches and practices, and experience with CICD tools such as ARCAD, GitHub, Jenkins, RTC, and JIRA is advantageous.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivery; excellent problem-solving and user support skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to deliver high-quality results under tight schedules and high pressure.
