Engineering Manager, Marketplace

Job Overview

We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the expansion of our Marketplace Platform, a product surface spanning customer-facing discovery, partner-facing self-serve tooling, business logic, and authentication layers.

Responsibilities

• Form the team: hire founding engineers, set technical direction, and establish team operations.
• Own engineering execution end-to-end: planning, prioritization, delivery quality, team health, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product and design to shape the roadmap.
• Work directly with enterprise customers and ecosystem partners.
• Manage integration seams with billing, auth & identity, and other platform teams.
• Drive platform-readiness work with security, legal, and operations.
• Recruit, onboard, and grow strong engineers; provide direct feedback and build a healthy team.

Requirements

• Experience taking a product or platform from 0 to 1.
• Skilled engineering manager with clear feedback and strong 1:1s.
• Led teams with work at the seams between other teams.
• Comfortable working with customers and partners directly.

Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-sided platforms or partner ecosystems.
• Background designing business logic and orchestration around financial systems.
• Experience shipping authentication and integration products.
• Background building self-serve tooling.
• Experience with products having evolving customer-facing and partner-facing surfaces.

Logistics

• Annual salary: $405,000-$485,000 USD.
• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Required field of study: Relevant to the role.
• Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time.
