Description

Ford Energy is seeking a Security Manager to manage security and operations for our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of direct and indirect reports, managing special projects and security initiatives, and assisting with project management oversight for physical security and fire systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing security and operations for Ford Energy, including staffing requirements and scheduling, access control, CCTV monitoring, and emergency support
  • Managing a team of direct and indirect reports
  • Managing special projects and security initiatives as assigned
  • Assisting with project management oversight for physical security and fire systems, as required
  • Developing monthly security awareness communications to be provided to employees
  • Conducting risk assessments of Ford Energy to determine if the operational model is adequate for site integrity
  • May perform the role of Incident Commander for security, medical, or behavioural emergencies
  • Responding to behavioural situations and emergencies as needed and escalating appropriately to the Regional Security Manager
  • Actively participating as a member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) during an escalated event
  • Managing escalated issues with plant Support Team Management (STM), as needed
  • Enhancing emergency response capabilities by utilising incident response tools and through the deployment of emergency response equipment for the company or local municipalities
  • Collaborating with People Matters, Labour Relations, and Safety representatives as necessary to resolve workplace issues
  • Identifying and escalating physical security gaps through proactive security initiatives
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal skill teams to ensure unified alignment with all security and fire-related matters
  • Collaborating with the regional security team as well as appropriate internal Ford skill teams and external work partners to plan for and provide security coverage for special events and VIP visits to Ford Energy
  • Tracking and compiling team metrics; using data to drive decision-making and security strategy
  • Acting as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement, military, security or equivalent. They will also have a minimum of 7 years of experience leading and developing teams, and be highly motivated, hands-on, self-starters with the ability to think critically and operate in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.

This is an armed role, and the candidate must possess a Concealed Pistol Licence (CPL) and demonstrate firearm proficiency as a condition of hire.
