Senior BOM Sourcing Engineer

The Senior BOM Sourcing Engineer drives strategic supply network development and cost management of Anduril's product hardware across their lifecycles. This involves collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list.
• Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through activities like concept scoping, feature trade-off tables, should-cost models, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronics designs.
• Develop and consolidate a manufacturing BOM with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp up production internally and with suppliers.
• Manage CAPEX throughout New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Perform value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
• Complete BOM risk assessments, including identifying alternate component sourcing.
• Ensure all component qualifications are completed before production.
• Reduce complexity through commonality optimization and component/supplier rationalization.
• Lead cost engineering activities to minimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle.
• Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs and cost inflation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
• Expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Willingness to relocate to Morrisville, NC, if not already local.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
• Experience in designing and developing electronics and/or mechanical devices.
• Background in advanced sourcing activities, including commodity/sourcing management.
• Experience with supplier development, technology, processes, and supply chains.
• Familiarity with working in highly regulated environments, preferably in energetics and solid rocket motor (SRM) production.
• Experience with high-tech products in high-mix, low-volume environments.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, start-up environments.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
