Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at Multimatic in Jackson, Michigan. As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the direct supervision and management of all maintenance personnel, including hourly employees.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting maintenance personnel in solving maintenance-related problems and projects with minimal interruption to production
• Analysing equipment downtime to identify causes and implement corrective actions to improve equipment performance and reduce costs
• Estimating, scheduling, and executing preventative maintenance programs for all equipment to ensure compliance with customer, government, safety, and quality requirements
• Designing, recommending, and supervising modifications to equipment to improve production and quality
• Sourcing parts and components required for equipment maintenance and improvement
• Participating in the design, development, and implementation of new technologies to improve productivity and quality
• Coordinating and participating in training for maintenance personnel to ensure they are up-to-date with changing technologies and requirements
• Conducting monthly performance appraisals and reviewing with maintenance personnel
• Preparing and managing the departmental operating annual budget and implementing cost reduction measures
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety rules and housekeeping principles
• Establishing and monitoring procedures to improve manufacturing efficiencies and company profitability
• Providing expert advice to employee involvement teams and continuous improvement teams
• Advising management on potential problems and offering solutions for improvement
• Exceeding or meeting all objectives and requirements of the business plan
• Assisting in the development of job descriptions for maintenance personnel
• Conducting interviews during the hiring process and ensuring new employees receive an orientation
• Issuing customer concern reports and distributing to relevant parties
• Following departmental and general procedures where applicable
• Performing other duties as determined by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager
• Abiding by company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures, including legislative requirements of OHSA
• Working in compliance with ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards
• Adopting and practicing Kaizen principles and participating in Kaizen and GEAR activities
