Description
We are seeking a visionary and technically grounded High-Speed Interconnect Architect to define and drive the future of our high-speed (>=100Gbps per lane) interconnect solutions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Mechanical Engineering understanding, an Electrical Engineering background, and deep experience in high-speed connector and cable manufacturing.
The successful candidate will lead roadmap strategies by balancing requirements with innovation to deliver outstanding designs. They will specify clear, actionable requirements while enabling space for innovation across mechanical and signal integrity domains. They will also work closely with customers and vendors to understand challenges, capture insights, and drive alignment from concept through execution.
Key responsibilities include navigating the ME/SI tradeoff space, ensuring robust mechanical designs while respecting signal integrity constraints. They will lead or support root cause analysis of mating and mechanical issues, and continuously refine design for manufacturability and reliability. Additionally, they will drive fast-turn prototyping and MP cycle time optimisation.
The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, with strong working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). They will have 12+ years experience in high-speed cable and connector design and manufacturing. They will also have proven ability to lead product roadmap development and balance technical tradeoffs between signal integrity and mechanical constraints.
Travel to vendors, manufacturers, and customers (20%) to foster strong relationships and ensure alignment is also a key aspect of this role.
