Description
Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the AI FinOps team in the Experiences and Devices group. The team is building Microsoft's next-generation monetization platform for AI, powering the shift from seat-based licensing to real-time, consumption-based billing.
The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain high-scale, low-latency services that meet the needs of a diverse user base. They will be a hands-on engineer who delivers high-quality code that is maintainable, performant, testable, and used in cross-products.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-scale, low-latency services.

- Conduct efficient design and architectural discussions, ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, and maintainable.
- Collaborate closely with multiple partner teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of complex projects.
- Drive effective project management and delivery within a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with application usage telemetry insights, modern licensing, and payment systems.
- Experience in C# and .Net.
- Experience in Spark, Python, data engineering, and data modeling.
- Proven ability to conduct efficient design and architectural discussions.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 – $274,800 per year.
