Description
The QA Engineer is based in Los Angeles, reports to the VP of Engineering, and is a member of the Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Connexity's products through comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases and test suites.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of web applications and services.
- Help build, maintain, and expand automated testing frameworks and regression suites.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and Agile ceremonies to ensure quality is incorporated throughout the development lifecycle.
- Analyze test results and communicate quality risks, issues, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Support testing of APIs, backend services, and web applications.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in test processes, automation, and quality standards.
- Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues when needed.
- Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and customer expectations.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software quality assurance.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Software Testing.
- Experience testing web-based applications and mobile applications in a fast-paced software development environment.
- Hands-on experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and regression testing.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to validate data across systems.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with web technologies, including HTTP, REST APIs, client-server architecture, and browser-based applications.
- Basic experience working in Linux/Unix environments and using command-line tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a collaborative environment.
