Description
We are seeking a Dev/Ops Engineer to join our eRisk Operations function, supporting the production management and business-facing technical support for HSBC's in-house Fixed Income eTrading platforms.
As a Dev/Ops Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Owning production support outcomes for Rates and Credit eTrading during the New York day, including incident leadership, prioritization, and stakeholder communications
- Monitoring and improving platform health, proactively identifying risks and driving remediation plans
- Developing automated monitoring tools to help early issue detection and post-incident follow-up
- Supporting electronic execution workflows across venues and protocols, including connectivity, session management, and venue-specific behaviors
- Leading troubleshooting across pricing/quoting services, market data, order management, trade capture, and downstream integrations
- Partnering with Quants and engineering teams on pricing/curve-related/algo issues, releases, and production fixes
- Managing change and release activities, ensuring controlled deployments, rollback readiness, and effective handovers across regions
- Driving problem management, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and delivery of permanent fixes, automation, and monitoring improvements
- Partnering with Middle Office/Operations to resolve trade lifecycle exceptions where technology is a contributing factor
- Maintaining and improving runbooks, operational procedures, monitoring, and alerting
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Finance, or similar)
- Experience in production support/SRE/DevOps for electronic trading or other low-latency, high-availability platforms
- Understanding of Fixed Income products and eTrading workflows across Rates and Credit
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems
- Hands-on scripting/programming for diagnostics and automation (e.g., Python, Shell, Java/C++)
- Experience with monitoring/observability tooling (e.g., ITRS Geneos)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with front office business users, traders, sales, quants, and other internal technical teams or vendors
