Job Overview
As a Fund Controller at Carta, you will join a rapidly growing team in Sydney, Australia. Carta is a leading provider of software and services for venture capital, private equity, and private credit, trusted by 65,000+ companies in 160+ countries.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic support to clients, including capital calls and distributions, audit/tax support, pre/post close services, quarterly and annual financials, and limited partner communications.
- Help clients utilise Carta's tools and resources, such as real-time IRR and portfolio data, to make informed decisions.
- Improve Carta's product and software by working with product and engineering teams.
- Interact with clients daily, manage client relationships, and review client deliverables.
- Assist with new and current process execution within the team.
- Ensure accounting team processes and procedures are SOC compliant.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in venture capital or private equity.
- Experience maintaining multiple client relationships.
- Understanding of limited partnership agreements and private placement memoranda.
- Experience reviewing financial statements and footnotes.
- Knowledge of waterfall calculations, management fees, and carried interest allocations.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Experience managing client deliverables and implementing accounting data into a general ledger system.
- Familiarity with venture capital and private equity fund administration.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
