We're looking for a seasoned Platform Engineer to join our team. As a leader in aging care innovation, Honor provides technology, tools, and services that empower older adults to live life on their own terms. Our platform engineering team builds and manages the infrastructure & core services that powers Honor's Care Platform. We're seeking someone with at least 6 years of professional experience in a platform engineering team within a product-centric company. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable distributed systems & infrastructure. Your expertise should include cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations and automation, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes. You will be joining a small team of highly-skilled, enthusiastic, and passionate engineers with an opportunity to create an outsized impact in contributing to the future evolution of Honor's Care Platform.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement foundational patterns and libraries for Python applications, across a range of technologies from API services to event processing
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to ensure reproducible and scalable environment setups
- Design and implement infrastructure for applications hosted on AWS, supporting event-driven systems, containerized services on Kubernetes, and serverless functions
- Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD
- Have experience automating the lifecycle management of code from development through production, including code promotion and configuration management
- Instrument observability through tools such as CloudWatch and DataDog to monitor and optimize application performance across multiple environments
- Scale infrastructure to meet increasing demand while managing cost effectively
- Have experience defining, instrumenting and measuring standards for quality, security, scalability, and availability with a focus on delivering business value
- Have passion for delivering turn-key developer experience for local development
- Keen interest in developing talent through mentorship
- Strong written and verbal communication, tailored to a variety of audiences
- A strategic thinker with a product-first approach and customer obsession
Requirements:
- At least 6 years of professional experience in a platform engineering team within a product-centric company
- Experience working with an RPC architecture
- Experience working at or having worked at a technology startup and familiar with the challenges of evolving platform maturity
- First-hand experience navigating multiple distributed architecture patterns
Our range reflects the hiring range for this position. We use national average to determine pay as we are a remote first company. Individual pay is based on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, experience, education, and training. Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program.
