Description

The Logistics Lead - China role is part of the Procurement & Supply Chain Management Group. You will help deliver the logistics category into a region/asset, ensuring alignment with category and procurement strategic objectives, as well as regional and asset strategic business priorities.

You will liaise with other procurement teams to deliver regional and asset priorities, balancing business needs with category plans. As the primary point of contact for suppliers in the logistics category in your region, you will partner, collaborate, develop, and support the management of relationships with them.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Delivering logistics category performance in the region/asset, meeting or exceeding relevant metrics, including safety and compliance.
  • Aligning regional needs with category plans, consolidating demand plans, and understanding local commercial landscapes.
  • Managing supplier performance, escalating issues to stakeholders as needed.
  • Supporting opportunities to strengthen relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Unlocking value in line with category management policy.

The role requires collaboration across procurement, with the business, and with suppliers to create a 'one team' mentality. You will develop technical capabilities, represent regional interests, and ensure compliance with organisational policies.

In terms of supplier and stakeholder management, you will use storytelling to communicate effectively, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, understand business needs, and champion supplier value.

The role also involves assisting in the delivery of modernization and transformation activities, leveraging digital solutions to drive innovation, and partnering with internal discipline teams to drive category excellence.

Essential education includes a degree related to procurement or equivalent relevant professional experience. Postgraduate qualifications related to procurement are desirable.

Essential experience and job requirements include:

  • Functional knowledge of business context, strategic direction, priorities, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of category management principles and logistics categories.
  • Understanding of how strategies flow through to execution in regions/assets.
  • Ability to develop a quick understanding of business objectives and synergise with category strategies.

  • Experience in delivering continuous improvement.
  • Leadership skills, with experience in supporting initiatives internationally.
