V-BAT Network Engineer

Shield AI is seeking a V-BAT Network Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the network infrastructure for its Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), which operates in challenging environments worldwide.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing and implementing network architectures for V-BAT, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security
• Integrating V-BAT with external networks, such as ground-based radio and satellites
• Developing and maintaining communication protocols and network management systems for UAS operations
• Optimizing network performance for various mission profiles
• Developing software for networking equipment
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Conducting testing and validation of network systems
• Staying current with advancements in network technologies

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and deploying network systems for real-time applications
• Strong understanding of networking layers in the OSI model
• Knowledge of routing and switching concepts and protocols
• Proficiency in network simulation and analysis tools
• Familiarity with network programming and tools
• Experience with Linux, scripting, and command-line tools
• Experience developing C, C++, and/or Python software
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience developing networks for aerospace or autonomous systems
• Expertise in network security, firewalls, and public key infrastructure
• Experience customizing, deploying, and maintaining Linux distributions created with Yocto
