Sales Associate

At Gusto, you're part of a team on a mission to grow the small business economy by handling complex tasks like payroll, health insurance, and HR.

Your role as a Sales Associate involves helping small business customers choose Gusto through email, chat, and phone interactions. You'll match Gusto's people platform to their business needs using advisory sales skills and help them navigate the onboarding process with sophisticated customer success skills.

Shift & Schedule:

• Mandatory training from August 3 - August 21, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST, with an in-person session in Denver, CO from August 17 - 21.
• Post-training, operate from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Mountain Time, with an 8-hour shift, including a 30-minute lunch break and a 90-minute chat shift.
• Schedules are set in 90-day blocks through a performance-based bidding system.

Day-to-Day Tasks:

• Manage high-volume inbound calls, chats, and emails across the customer journey.
• Maintain accurate notes in Salesforce for all leads worked.
• Help customers select Gusto as a payroll platform.
• Guide customers through account setup and initial onboarding.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and empathy in every customer interaction.
• Refine solutions selling skills for small businesses.
• Participate in community and career development opportunities.
• Use AI-powered workflows daily.

Requirements:

• 1 year of sales or customer service experience in a high-volume environment.
• Commitment to customer empathy and ethical business practices.
• Passion to achieve goals and improve your craft.
• Excellent communication skills via phone and email/chat.
• Adaptability and drive.
• Day-to-day experience integrating AI into your workflow.

Compensation:

• Hourly pay from $23.00 - $24.50 for certain locations.
• Base-only position with no commission component.
